Kalkof Architekten
Architecture projects, clearly structured.
For many years, Kalkof Architekten has shaped the urban landscape of the Leipzig region and contributed to the city’s development as a place to live. Their projects span different scales and typologies, each responding precisely to its context. The website makes this diversity visible and accessible — clearly structured and reduced to the essentials.
Challenge
Very different types of projects, ranging from residential architecture to commercial buildings, needed to be presented within one consistent structure. Content had to be quickly understandable while maintaining strong visual impact. At the same time, the design needed to remain minimal, timeless, and easy to maintain.
Solution
A strong focus on references as the central element of the website. Reduced structure and clear categorization of projects. Development of an independent interface concept that rethinks navigation and project access without sacrificing usability. The goal was a calm, durable design with high usability and long-term relevance.
Implementation
A modular system for project pages and overview sections. Clear visual hierarchy with a strong emphasis on imagery. An innovative interface for navigating projects and categories. Technically lean implementation with fast loading times and simple editorial workflows.
Result
A reduced and precise website with a strong focus on projects. Different typologies are clearly structured and directly accessible. The interface supports orientation without drawing attention away from the content itself.
Added value
Clear presentation of complex architectural content within a minimal structure. Low maintenance effort through a well-designed system architecture. Timeless design and a stable technical foundation for long-term use.
